SCAFCO Commercial Grain Bins & Silos

     SCAFCO commercial grain bins and silos offer many outstanding strength and durability features. Wide corrugated steel sheets manufactured from high- strength steel, heavy-duty galvanized steel stiffeners, and strong box-rib roofs are some of the quality features available.

    Our complete line of commercial bins and silos is available in diameters from 15 ' (4.57 m) to over 138' (42.06 m). Extra-tall sizes are available in all diameters. SCAFCO also has a full range of accessories available to complete your storage silo projects, feed storage solutions, and ethanol and bio diesel facilities.

SCAFCO Hopper Bottom Storage

     SCAFCO hopper-bottom bin/silos offer the advantages of complete bin and silo cleanout and lower material handling costs. Our sturdy design and quality materials, including SCAFCO's standard 2 2/3" (67 mm) pitch corrugated steel wall sheets, make our product stronger and more durable than ordinary hopper bins/silos. SCAFCO can also use its wide range of features and options to custom-create bins and silos tailored to your needs.

     SCAFCO supplies hopper-bottom bins/silos from three tons to over 1,000 tons capacity in a wide variety of sizes. SCAFCO also supplies structural supports to elevate bins and silos above rail sidings or truck driveways for rapid loading of railcars or trucks. Hopper-bottom bins and silos can store any free-flowing commodity from feed, seed, and plastic pellets to certain mineral supplements.

SCAFCO Aeration Systems

     Proper aeration is an important part of every grain storage system and is essential to maintaining grain quality. Properly operated aeration systems can save you money, control insect infestation and moisture migration, and reduce grain spoilage.

     SCAFCO's aeration systems can be installed in new or existing storage facilities. We use rigid corrugated, perforated aeration duct made from heavy-gauge galvanized steel combined with high- efficiency axial aeration fans.

SCAFCO Centrifugal Fans

SCAFCO provides a complete range of 50 and 60 Hz high- and low- speed centrifugal fans. With 46 models of fans, there is sure to be one that is right for your application. Centrifugal fans can out-perform the same horsepower axial fan for high-static pressure applications.      Centrifugal fan housings are precision-fabricated from heavy-gauge galvanized steel. Galvanized steel is rust resistant and has a long life and an attractive finish. Fan housings are bolted together using as few pieces as possible to increase the fan strength and reduce the number of seams that can cause air leakage or wear problems. All other fan components are of the highest quality as well. Every fan is tested to ensure the proper functioning of all components.      All fan parts, including fan wheels, inlet cones, and fan housings, are matched for optimum efficiency. The fan wheels are specifically designed for superior efficiency and low sound levels.

SCAFCO Silo Roof Systems
	All grain silos and bins 12' (3.66 m) through 42' (12.80) in diameter are supplied with a single-stage self-supporting roof. These silo roofs are designed for peak equipment load rating of 2000 pounds (907 Kg) and 16 psf (78 kg/sq. m.) live load.      Grain bins and silos 48' (14.63 m) in diameter and larger have a two-stage roof supported by C-shaped, roll-formed galvanized rafters and purlins. These silo roofs are rated for peak equipment load of 10,000 pounds (4,536 kg) and 25 psf (122 kg/sq. m.) live load. Larger peak equipment loads are available by request. A single stage self-supporting roof is also available for 48' (14.63 m) diameter silos.      Roof panels are triangular sections of galvanized steel with brake-formed raised ribs along each side and a 90 degree formed drip edge at the eave. The roof rib is a box-type rib with 3 ¼" (83 mm) rise. The silo roof panels are connected to the silo eave with rib clips and center clips. Holes in the silo roof and top ring wall sheets are factory-punched for clip installation.
The silo and bin roofs of 39' (11.89 m) and 42' (12.80 m) diameter silos have a tubular support ring with expandable connectors attached to the exterior of the roof midway between the eave and the segment ring. The support ring provides added strength to the silo roof structure. These silo roofs are also equipped with 36 roof rib supports.      The center fill opening is 22" (560 mm) in diameter for silos 12' (3.66 m) to 24' (7.30 m) in diameter. Silos and bins 27' (8.23 m) through 105' (32.00 m) in diameter have a 36" (900 mm) diameter fill opening. An optional 60" (1500 mm) opening is also available. All roof pitch is 30 degrees.       Each silo roof assembly with a 12' (3.66 m) diameter and larger has one panel equipped with factory-installed, hinged inspection hatch and a lockable latch. The roof inspection hatch is located at the eave next to the roof ladder. The manhole is trapezoid-shaped with dimensions of 17" x 20" x 24" (430 mm x 508 mm X 610 mm).      Cleats manufactured from galvanized steel are provided for bolting to the roof around the perimeter of the peak cap. Tubular safety rings are available in lieu of safety cleats. Safety roof stairways with handrails are recommended.

SCAFCO Supreme Bins/Silos offer the largest capacities of all the SCAFCO bins/silos. This series ranges from 120' (36.58 m) to 138' (42.06 m) diameters with capacities in excess of 1.1 million bushels (36,397 m³).

     SCAFCO Supreme Bins/Silos stand apart from the competition with the largest clear span roof. Clear span means that there is no internal roof supports to impede clean out of the silo. SCAFCO Supreme bins/silos also feature corrugated roof panels adding strength and rigidity to the roof.

    The SCAFCO Supreme Bins/Silos offer the largest standard peak load in the industry at 40,000 lbs (18,143.9 kg). SCAFCO roof structure features all cold formed, G-115 (350 grames/m²) galvanized support structure ensuring long life and service without the fear of losing your investment to corrosion.

    All SCAFCO accessories are available on the Supreme line of bins/silos. These include optional roof stairways, interior and exterior ladders, side discharge kits, and giant doors for machinery access.

     SCAFCO has also designed a custom "Quad F" aeration system providing the aeration required for the extreme capacities stored in the SupremeT line of Bins/Silos.
